Raye Smith
A Richmond, Virginia native, Raye started performing at age 14 with gospel legend Larry Bland and his Volunteer Choir. During their touring, they opened for artists like Andre Crouch and Walter Hawkins. Soon, Raye was working as a session musician on commercial jingles.Raye's songwriting skills draw from a wide range of musical genres and influences. His live performance experience put him on the same stage as Mary WIlson and the Supremes, the Commodores, Gerald Lavert, and Alexander O'Neal.
As a producer, one of the first acts Raye worked with out of his home studio, was multi-platinum artist, Chris Brown.
Raye writes and produces a seasoned mix of rock, R&B, Jazz, Gospel, and Soul.
